Griffon vulture

Four vulture species are present in various parts of mainland Europe. The Griffon is by far the most common of them. It's a resident species, but the juveniles migrate to Africa for the winter. This one is about to do just that, as it approaches the Mediterranean crossing point neat Tarifa in southern Spain.
